i picked up spindles, rotors and calipers from a 87 supra today, gonna stick them on the yota. i'll post up pics once they're on. the supra had a complete 7m-ge, i turned it using the crank and its not seized up. they charge $100 or so for any complete engine on wednesday including the harness. i kinda want to get it.

i heard in az you only have to worry about the brown recluse and the black widow. however i know several people who have been bitten/ stung by them. my little sister was three and a widow got her on the back of the knee. poison control told us to give her tylenol and let her rest. she caught a fever for about 3 hours and then she was fine. another friend was bit by a bark scorpion and it just made his arm numb for a while. the one i worry about is the brown recluse, my friend was bit by one, and the venom killed a big patch of flesh on his arm, the doctors cut more off to stop the venom, and now he has a big sunken spot where they cut it out. nasty little bugs.

here are the supra brakes, they swamp the factory brakes.

i measured the distance from where the upper and lower control arm bolt on the supra and truck spindles are the same (7.5" roughly), the upper and lower balljoints appear to be the same size as the truck w/ a tape measure, but i will use a micrometer when i go to work. the tie rod joints on the truck spindle bolt on from the top, and on the supra they bolt on from the bottom, and are different sizes. it works for me since the truck is so low i wanted them to come from the bottom anyways. the main difference is the spud on the truck is centered w/ the upper and lower balljoints, and on the supra they are roughly 1" forward of center. not a big deal for me since i'm building custom control arms, i'm going to compensate the 1" on the new arms. all in all it will be a pretty cheap upgrade from the stock units. i got both sides complete for $85.

no this one is naturally aspirated, but i think it will fit better since its narrower. and the complete motors are normally 159.99, which includes all accesories and wiring, so if you can find a turbo car its still the same price. but today was half off so it was 78 and some change. its the same yard i told you about before.

every wednesday, and every saturday this month. it is an 56th street, north of chandler blvd. east side of road. its called pick-n-pull/ greenleaf recyclers. the car i pulled it from was a recovered stolen car. it had the phx pd report # still on the window and before they drain the fluids and put it in the yard they check to see if it runs. then they will put "runs and drives".

    ok i gotta ask...

    custom low pro intake?

    or

    cut hole in hood?

or i guess as a third possiblility, is it sitting on a 2x4 and the new eng mounts will bring it down?

either way some sweet $hit right there:waytogo:
