Yesterday I took some paint resto polish stuff to my truck. Did everything except the bed and front valance. Ill finish this weekend. Should look really shiny. The bed, tailgate, the cab itself, rockers, hood and front valance are all stock paint. Both doors have signs of a repaint, as does the passenger fender. Driver fender is from another truck with the same paint code, and was a repaint as well. The grille is actually from a red truck, I have the original orange one but the corner busted out years ago when it got bitchslapped by a gaurdrail on 405 :D But still, considering the top flat surfaces are the most exposed and original, I am very happy with the results. Sometimes I wonder if I would like it as much any other color.

That looks really good! If you don't mind me asking what product did you use and how did you do it!

It's McGuirers paint resto stuff. Ill take a pic of the bottle and show you all. I wiped it on with a towel, let it get kinda dry then wipe it off. Very similar to putting mothers polish on aluminum. Not gritty like a compound and isn't the wax step itself.

Been working out the little bugs on Mork the last couple days. Yesterday the rear driveshaft flange broke its bolts driving around. Few minutes later I had it fixed. Today I adjusted my toe from being way out to a hair in. i just used a tape measure on the outer tread line of my tires side to side on the front and back. Was 1" wider in the front, now its about 1/8" narrower in the front. Drives to the center instead of pulling for either side. Couldn't get the upper arm bolts loose to remove the camber shims that have always been there, so it couldn't come out. I had the wooden steering wheel I restored installed for a week or so but it was too large so back went the purple 3 spoke. Have a new center dash bezel in the works to mount my 5th 2" gauge and make it all look better. Going to finish the center console and wrap it soon. Getting some 17" wheels soon as well. Lots of stuff is in the works. Going to keep upgrading the interior too, have some 81 F150 sill plates that are just nice extruded aluminum. Will polish them later. Making full door panels and kick panels, as well as some half b pillar panels. Dont want to see any paint except the pillars and back wall. I'm sort of rambling. Photos and more organized update tomorrow. I will have lots of pics hopefully.

Nice work on the paint resto! Starting to look like a show car with all of that gloss and the reflections. Keep it up.

I worry that if I started to buff through the blood-orange chalk my 'lux is painted with I would either end up with bare metal or buff right through the metal. Ha.

My paint has been in great shape it just got a bit oxidized from not washing it for a year lol. Heres a pic when I had just brought it home. And another from a car show in 2011, got it into the show coverage of some truck mag but cant remember which one. :D

So a member here on the board, 671miyagi traded me everything he needs to put a 20/22R combo into his 71 hilux. For that he gave me the 17" wheels that came on his truck when he bought it. Theyre 17x7.5" +51mm with 10mm spacers up front to clear the dust caps. Center caps need a trimming to fit up front. They are from some sort of caddy. Anybody recognize them? Anyways, on to the pics.

Haha nice touch with the Crown shift boot.

And I must say while your rig did look really sweet with cromedome/gloss black stock wheels, those new rims are slickkkk... I bet it will handle tighter with those low pro tires, too.

Thanks. The stock rims are the original 4 I think. I've had about 12 of the rim come through my tire piles. Lol. Still have a couple more spares. Had them black with caps, then bronze with caps, then bronze with acorn lugs.

The new 17s do handle alot better. Much flatter in the corners. I still want to put my sway bar back in though. Need to modify the mounts since its so low :D was thinking about adding a second front bar as a rear sway bar. A rule of thumb I remember is never run a thicker rear bar but 2 of the exact same part should be fine. Too much rear sway bar induces oversteer. I can deal with that ;) haha

Haha ya, I've never complained about a little more oversteer... As far as I understand having similar bars front and rear won't pull it out too bad either. Especially if you have heavy junk in the back.

If I don't find one before the next time I'm up around Seattle, I might try to talk you out of one of those spare wheels. My rig didn't come with a spare...

If I still have an extra past 4 one is yours. I want to put a super skinny on one an put it back under the bed. Something like a 145/85/14 lol. So it doesn't hang below the bed. But I usually just keep one in the bed.

Damn, your truck sounds great! I hope mine can someday have even half that rasp and depth. Looks like it's pretty quick, too...

And the images with the bike in the back are dope. That powerline cut looks like a great place to get loose with a pickup and a dirtbike.

I can't take my truck more than about 12 feet further down the road before it gets really rutted lol. And thanks. A weber, header and chambered muffler makes any toyota sound great.

And yeah, its pretty quick. Chicks riding shotgun always tell me to slow down or that theyre scared. Could be that they have to look out their own window down the onramp :D
