Hey everyone. before i start taking everything apart and figuring things out, i thought i should ask some of you who have probably done this...what to expect, and what i should do. My 94 has the speedo, fuel, and temp gauge..thats it. Im going to pick up a 4runner cluster from the junkyard, because tach, voltage etc. My question is... am i going to have to wire the 4runner cluster myself? or is it plug n play? idk...what should i be looking foreward to?

my search starts here =P any advice from when you did yours? i.e. the tach...do i have to route a cable? or can i use the wiring i have already set up for my aftermarket tach? the voltage guage and oil pressure are self explanitory...but am i going to have to rig up a harness? i guess what i'm asking is...what prep work am i going to have to do before installing the new cluster?

Remember you need to disconect the oil pressure sending unit before you begin becasue if you don't you stand a chance of burning up your oil pressure gauge. If you have to run a wire for the tach it's very easy. There are quite a few write ups on how to do this. Good Luck!

I got my sending unit from ebay, works. It's used lol...

I had to run my tach wire to my coil, my plugs weren't hooked up for it.

    90, 91, 95 4Runner = cable driven
    92, 93, 94 4Runner = electronic speedo

Just check the VIN for the year before you pull another cable speedo

Ha! just noticed how old this was. OP hope you found the correct cluster by now.
