Alright so here is the low down on my ride. I got it a few weeks ago and was running well, then it started to overheat. I noticed it was low on coolant. So I filled it up and good to go.... Then the next day before I went out, I decided to check the coolant one more time. It was low again. So I decided to stay in and I put a cardboard under my truck to see where the coolant is going. So remember I did not drive my truck the entire day ! The following day I went and checked the level again... and it was low again and NOTHING was on the cardboard. So today did a lil driving and the motor was acting a lil slugish. I take off the oil cap and took a peek ! and that is what I saw. The Oil doesn't look like a milkshake, but more like coffee with a tiny bit of cream in it. Oh I also checked the oil as well during all the above things took place Oh and to throw this is in. 1994 Single Cab 22RE 5speed with.... Ready for this 350K miles !! Still putting about 1/4 of a gallon of coolant in EVERYDAY
sounds like a bad head gasket or cracked water jacket. Water in your oil will make your truck run sluggish.
Could be a head gasket or a timing chain rub on the timing cover either one can cause over heating and mixing due to coolant lose . And then there's the 350k miles coolant corrosion can eat up the aluminum head and that as well can seep coolant normally this is burned off instead of mixing I would inspect the plugs for hotspots or clean insulators it may tell u more
Surprised nobody brought up the timing chain. Instantly pull that valve cover off and take a flashlight to peek down the driver's side of the timing chain to see if the guide has broken and worn through the water pump. If it did wear through, instantly drain that oil to get that moisture out. You got a timing chain job on your hands, but luckily, it's easier than it seems. It's going to take some work, but honestly, not that hard. engnbldr.com will have the kits. I got my timing kit with the steel backed guides for $58, I think. It's on the site. When was the last timing chain done?
Nah, it's just once i heard coolant and then the picture was given, i'd assume that's the first thing we'd address. im sure all that coolant is dumping its way through that water pump.
