93yoter... back in freshman year, i was all over the thought of a SR20DET in my pickup, lightweight, makes power, and most of all, strong aftermarket backup!!

I would imagine a SR20DET would cost quite a bit more than a 7M. Lets face it there were lots of 7M's made! Would still be cool tho.

true the sr20 has alot of aftermarket support, but the rb20 give u over 200+ ponies on the stock motor..to get the sr20 to just match that ur already breakin into the motor..but i agree have to keep it toyota if ur going inline 6 :D

an sr20 will put out far more than 200hp in stock trim with a simple turbo upgrade

my roomates 240 with and sr20 completely stock internals runs a 12.3

same my buddys 240 has stock rb20 and that pulls hard..his clutch started to go before he got a decent run in (his first time at the track) but yes either engine is good, just comes down to personal preferance.

Seems like most of the 1UZ info I've seen out there pertains to RHD trucks, mostly down under. Is there a well-documented body of knowledge on LHD swaps as well? The 1UZ is a powerhouse, and since I'm going with a Lexus theme on my truck anyway, it would only make sense. ;)

almost guarantee you have a broken drivers side timing chain guide

stop driving the truck till you get it fixed or you can be looking at way more money

pickup a timing chain kit with a metal backed drivers guide from engnbldr

put it on yourself in a weekend and you'll be good to go for less than $100
