Been a while! Things are slowing down, as its getting down to the point where I gotta start droppin dough. I have been tearing the engine down to a long block, to go back up with all new gaskets(had a nasty oil leak, previous owner was an idiot) Every bolt was cleaned, wire brushed and painted. All new gaskets installed.

This pic here, is the way it was when I got it.

And after massive cleaning, re-assembling and some powder coating here and there....

    SHEEN!

Freakin PO tried to tell me Toyota replaced the head and timing set. BULLS**T. I found where he reassembled it and had apparently lost bolts, found what would work and if it was too long, he would use a nut as a spacer...there wasnt a gasket on the cold start injector....valves were way tight. (facepalm) But its back to spec now.

I have this coming now, should be here this week!

Ive been off work for a month, just got back in from Nashville and this is where we are now. I go back to work tomorrow, then off for 4 days this weekend. I plan on installing the CANDO Specialties trans member, the notch, and Z'ng the frame!

Well I got her in the shop this weekend. I had some long shot type goals going in, but with the Falcons game and all, we didnt get as far as I wanted. But still, for 5 hours worth of work. We kicked ass.

Here she is, on stands and level

Cutting out that monstrous factory Trans member to install the Cando member.

    Much better!

    Bro in law burnin .030"!

Got the notch, crosstubes and 4 Link member started.

    DOWN!

So at this point, we have to finish tubing the rear, gusset it up and add some structure here and there. The frame needs the Z now, which we'll knock out this week sometime. Gotta get a 4 link ordered.

Shout out to Jason (UnderConstruction93) For the help and allowing me to imitate his setup. Im gonna have some differences but for the most part his design is simple, and it works. Thats all Im after.

    --stay tuned!

Moving quick now! Rear setup is complete..the frame has been Z'd, we just have the front frame horns left to Z. I have ordered my 4 link, and a slim air tank. 5 gallons, 36x7x9 dimensions. Tax time and bonus check from work will do alot. The wife lent me 300 to get a 4 link, so...that was nice!

We wanted to use 1/8" to do the fishplates, but all we had was 1/4" and no plasma cutter. We cut these to shape with angle grinders, miter saws and a sawzall. Absolutely sucked, the frame is curved, so we had to cut a slit, put the plate in the vise and bend across the slit and get the angle right...I do know one thing. Its freakin strong! I only Z'd 1.25" and I lay perfectly flat now. We have to put the engine back on the frame and drop the motor mounts an inch...I have moved the compleetion goal of May back to late April, in time for the SouthEastern Mini Truckin Nationals!

    Pics!
    Frame Z
    [IMG]

Rear setup...see the 4 link crossmember, on the back side we used 2x2" and tied into the factory crossmember right there...strength!

Laid Flat! Cab mounts are 5" off the ground...measured the cab...4 7/8" off ground. So Ill lay flat with 1/8" of clearance...perfect!

    ...

Ask and you shall receive! Been busting it for 2 days! Got the Z done, engine mounts dropped an inch, various odds/ends finished, gas tank mounted exhaust pipe sliced and bent to fit the new cando trans member....cab is on! Layin' Rocker!

Tomorrow the bed goes on for the cut-outs for the notch and gas tank. Powdercoating the drums, spindles and other brackets, and extending the fuel pump harness.

    Enjoy! Im ready to drag!:headbang:

    mounts

With the engine in the frame, i marked a line perpendicular to the ground on the mount. Sliced staright as possible with a cut off disk...offset the halves an inch and then re-welded them and gusseted them. Took bout 30 mins.
