I have a 95 Toyota pickup. Everytime I push in the clutch the truck shuts off. I've checked for vaccume leaks, by passed the starter safety switch on the clutch. Everytime I push in the clutch the truck stalls out. But if I push the gas and raise the rpms and then quickly push on the clutch I can take off. As if attempting to burn out. Please help I'm stumped.

If you just had work done to it, the thrust bearing installed backwards will kill a motor when the clutch is depressed.

No unusual noises and the truck does shift good. The only thing is every time I push in the clutch, it dies. Even while I'm driving it.

No new stuff done to it. The one thing that happened is I was at least 2 quarts low of oil and that's when the issue started. An oil change later, this is happening.

Sensor problem or broken defective throw out bearing or broken pressure plate fingers normally you get noises with the trans problem this is a 22re right
Also check your clutch cylinder fluid level

Yes it is a 22re. So even if these things are broken, the truck can still able to be driven? Because I can still engage the clutch if I raise the rpms

Well they can be broken and still function they normally protest with noise or a clunky feel to the drivetrain broken finger or fingers on the pressure plate can snag up on the throw out bearing cause sing the engine to stall revving it and fast clutch work can kinda skip it along I'm not yet convinced that is your problem so u press it in and it stalls like motor comes to a jerk stop ?or just a quiet shut off like turning the key off have u checked your clutch fluid level

the fluid is good. It just shuts off as if I were to turn it off with the key. But if I start to push the clutch slowly its as if I'm losing one cylinder at a time. The more I slowly push it in its as if more and more cylinders die out until I push it all the way in and that's when it shuts off when I push it in all the way.

Hmm interesting lots of miles on that clutch and pressure plate ? U may have just a worn out pressure plate and it can't fully release this. Stalling doesn't happen with the truck in neutral and clutch in does it

Yeah a lot of miles on the clutch and plate. About 100,000. Yeah the truck does die when I'm in neutral and pushing the clutch in.

So this clutch bypass was done after the problem started it is possible that your throw out bearing is damaged and or your clutch and P plate just kinda unusual to die in neutral unless there is a binding situation

No the problem was there and I thought it was the safety switch being bad so I bypassed it but it wasent the issue because as soon as I touched the clutch it stopped again.

O okay we'll u may be looking at a new clutch just a unusual symptoms without having any noises or grinding I would mention electrical but sense you can drive the truck normally if u do the clutch fast and the trucks not stalling just idling parked doesn't sound electrical u may just have a malfunction throw out bearing or clutch and p plate not to expensive just a tad bit of labor not to tuff tho

One more question to try and diagnose this problem when you are in idle can you push the gas and release it quickly without dying? Maybe your idle is too low and the clutch being pushed in is just dropping it enough. Also how old is you Battery/Alternator?
