First off i would like to say im new to the forum and new to the toyota mini crowd. I have a 1990 toyota pickup single cab 22r 4speed i just picked up for 800 bucks probably about 5months ago, rebuilt the carb and its been real good to me ever since even with 200plusk miles. Long story short need a new set of wheels and tires mine are done for and i figure while im doing it id get something semi decent but still some what cost effective. Ive been reading through the site a few days now and i think im gonna end up going with 15x8's or 16x8's i was wanting to pick up a set of craiger soft 8's but i have no idea what backspacing i will need. Keep in mind i plan on going 4wd fenders and 2inch front 3inch rear drop in the next few months or so. I like the look of what you guys call "poke" looks sick. Here are the dimensions of the wheels i was looking at. # Soft 8 397 Series Wheel Size: 15'' x 8'' # Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2'' # Rear Spacing: 4'' # Offset: -13mm # Soft 8 397 Series Wheel Size: 15'' x 8'' # Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2'' # Rear Spacing: 4-3/4'' # Offset: +6mm or # Soft 8 397 Series Wheel Size: 16'' x 8'' # Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2'' # Rear Spacing: 5'' # Offset: +13mm If anyone can shed some light on this that would be sick. I dont know anything about back spacing and dont want to order something that doesnt fit. thanks allot, Nick.
Try this web site Sizeitup! Ecommerce Wheel Fitment - Wheel Fitment Guide - Tire Size Calculator I myself am not good with wheels either I have buddy who's a genius when it comes to offsets tire sizes so I call him when I need something. This site looked like it might help out alittle though...
thinks for the link i looked at the tire dimension chart is the positive backspacing push the wheel more towards the outside of the fender?? if thats the case then this set up # Soft 8 397 Series Wheel Size: 15'' x 8'' # Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2'' # Rear Spacing: 4-3/4'' # Offset: +6mm is closest to 0 offset as i can get. but will it fit?
Ok i was just talking to a friend of mine on the phone and he said i have this all backwards the -offset pushes the wheel out of the fender and the positive offset brings it in towards the frame. If thats the case then i want the 15x8 with the -13mm offset right.
