I agree completely with what CinNAMmon said above. This is exactly what im doing on my yota. Im glad you said that about the NGK V-Powers...I was undecided on which ones to get. In regards to the resonator....where exactly does it go in the whole scheme of the exhaust system?

Call LC & talk with a tech in regards to running without a cat.
On the 22 RE the computer is controlling the air & fuel flow & the signals from the senors will effect all!!
These engines run rich as it is, & can be as damaging as running lean!!

Magnaflows are pretty quiet when I first had mine installed its was just deep on take off over time it will get louder adding larger piping my help a bit . I would def run a cat on a 22re or for that matter any street vehicle
All this talk about mufflers and sounds I think we need a media/video option for this forum ...instead of chasing YouTube videos

I completely agree with you on that......we just need one solid place to house them all so we dont have to search all over creation for em like you said.

Usually after the cat and before the muffler.

We just need to compile exhausts into a single thread. I'll make the thread if you all like so. Use the search button well, I posted quite a lot about exhausts.

Factory manifolds have been designed really well, Toyota has put plenty of time and money into them. If you want an upgrade, LCE, Downey, DougThorley
Stock or high flow cats, it'll help your exhaust volume and tone be more manageable.
Resonator, I'm looking to get one installed soon. This will help clean up your notes a lot.
Mufflers, I have gone through plenty of random exhausts. The magnaflow has a nice stainless steel body and solid build. The exhaust flow is smooth and helps the motor. It doesnt have a "tinnish" sound from thin metal.

Proven optimal exhaust design has been 2.25"

    Unless you got a turbo.

If you're going to run a cat a resonator is pointless.

Thanks for the help! I recently installed the 2.25" with my Magnaflow and was satisfied with the sound! Huge improvement compared to my stock one!

just all depends on the set up you are running will determine which NGK would be perfect for you, I have a monster 2.6L 22r that requires NGK race spark plugs for 12.5 to 1 compression

Awesome! I'm really glad you like it. I put a 90* elbow and a straight pipe to let the exhaust exit out the side (not under the bed) and man does it sound much much better. :D It's very nice.

I'm sure his truck is relatively close to factory. :)
