finished off my headunit install into the dash today, all up has taken about 4 hours with heaps off measuring and cardboard templates to make sure i got it right i think it looks ok
Nice job on the radio install. Your truck is coming along really well. Thanks for keep us posted on its progress. Rick
Oh man!!! Make me a piece so i can mount an aftermarket deck in mine!!!!! Love the truck btw it should look really nice when it's done. Are you going to keep it a flatbed?
I dont know how i could have made it fit with out using a detachable face unit, but yeah im happy with how it looks Yes it will remain a flatbed, i just have to find one i can make to fit there are plenty of these things around second hand in NZ just have to find one for a good price or custom make one but that will be the very last thing on the "to do" list.
i have purchased a flatdeck for it as it came up pretty cheap. it does need a little bit of work done on it but it is solid. i will post pics and my plans for it when i have some more time off work
Yeah i have no clue how i'm gonna get an aftermarket cd Player in mine! But yeah i think it would be fun to make a custom flatbead on something. I love welding and metal fabbing! It's intriguing to me. I like having a regular bed more but on sOmeones truck it would be fun!
Im going to make a custom cross member to use the original mounting points on the chassis. no more updates to list as ive been to busy at work but i will hopefully get some more done when i have a week off early next month
glad to see your still around...seems like a lot of cool builds fell of the map. Its hard to find time/cash for me but I'm settin up shop with two toyota projects and one daily...really just learning the basics now...blah blah blah. Its always inspiring to see progress on the great projects on the '76-'83 fourm.
yeah i did list it for sale due to lack of time and money but couldn't go though with it it felt like i was selling one of my kids, ive had it for few years now
just a little update have installed new brake lines, pads, shoes and rear wheel cylinders and just need to blow all the lines out then bleed the system painted gas tank and a few other things im not going to pursue the 3rz at this stage and will be installing the original engine back in so i can drive it
