Oh yes, killR fun, bumps you never existed jump right out atcha and the ground squirrels fear you more. . . When I first did my static it was like night and day newbie driving, then when I did my FBSS air, it reivented my whole lifes prospective of rollN' - Nothing like hittN the sides cruising the drag or draggN' tail and watching the eyeballs pop out of passing motorists and spectators. Welcome to the LOWLIFE!

it was relocated initially for a forward 4-link setup when i was going to go bagged but now i decided to go static and the stock gas tank mounts were done away with....... this is how my rear half was setup like.

That tubular crossmember next to the Coke can can be removed. It doesn't provide any structural rigidity. Everyone I know that has owned or currently owns a Toyota that's been static dropped or bagged has removed them. Mine's gone and it rides fine. The only thing I can see it there for is to protect your torsion bars.

yea, ive pondered about its importance and the only thing i can see that it does is tie in the support between the tranny x-member and the lower control arm x-member. it also looks like its a "catch" for the tranny to rest on when the motor is pulled out so the front can rest on there. its not really hitting or annoying me at the moment but ill keep it on there as a "gauge" for when i do rub :D

Not a bad idea, thats the same reason I have my still on for, it scrapes before the front crossmember! Plus, by the look of your pictures itll help protect the exhaust. . .

Damn SD. I love this pic. I just added it to my collection of internet car pictures. I need to buy flares for the rear of my truck.

BTW, I like the 2wd front fenders better also. Mine were pretty easy to pull out by hand (after removing the plastic inner liner) to clear wider tires.

thanks! i have that same picture on my desktop.

yea, the 2wd fenders are definately allot better detailed for the truck's look. i used spoons to bend mine into place. had a buddy with a 4x4 block and a rag hold the fender in shape while i pryed with the spoons on the inside of the fender to get the clearance i needed.

Man i friggin love it! When you cut the x member out did you replace it with anything or just leave it out? And was it a big job to mount the gas tank at the rear?

i currently have nothing replacing the crossmember i cut. i will be placing a tubular one that clears here this week. its one of the main one needed to support the latteral structure of the truck. im also placing a smaller one further back from that one as well closer to the axle.

the gas tank relocation wasn't too hard, just time consuming assuring it was leveled off and that it would not interfere with the axle or contacting the bed...

The torsion bars are @ the front of the truck, not the rear!
I think the cross member you are talking about is the one that holds the spare tire!

theres a curved x-member towards the rear of the cab that holds the gas tank on one side of it.

i highlighted the section where i cut out the peice on the picture below.

Asking you questions on two different boards lol....I promise I'm not a stalker! ;)

Does Beefed include the slim bumpstops with his block kit, or did you add those separately?

Sweet. That's a pretty complete kit then.

Is it possible to do a mild notch (bolt-on or a small welded one) without cutting the bed floor? I've not checked for clearance as this just occurred to me. I don't want to cut my bed but am thinking I'll need a notch at some point.

yes. compleately possible. mine had to be cut due to how big a notch i installed, but a smaller more subtle notch should not require cutting the bed.

PM Beefed Taco on this board and he'll explain what he can offer. he can even offer a kit with shocks if you want.... all depends on how much you looking to spend and what all you want in a drop kit.
