Shocks are pretty much guna run u about the same at all parts stores. Dont worry about geting shorter shocks for the rear. U dont need to change em unless ur putting drop leafs or pulling a leaf.

For the front i think i can get away with wat u have if ur only goin for 2".

Well ones already blown, theyre like 15yrs old. do you know the factory size? if not, where could i find out? ive tried searching but cant find anything. do people who static drop their truck with 3in blocks and cranked torsions usually keep their factory shocks on?

Honestly like i said, the only shocks u really need to worry about are the fronts. Since they do actually compress wen u lower it.

The rears u can just leave a factory one in there with ur drop blocks UNLESS u pull a leaf or install drop leafs. Since the shock plate does not move farther or closer to the frame theres no need to change shocks ifall ur doing is installing blocks. For the fronts jus go to autozone and ask what they have for the 2WD. Or check online at auto part stores websites

They might rub on the cab. U know the part of the wheelwell thats at the cab, right there. Probably at full lock only tho. U can always bash it in a bit with a BFH to clearance it. Also at the top of the wheel well

since i went though this pain with mustang 16x8's

225/60/16 rubs on body unless stock height

225/55/16 rub soon as you hit the slightest bump

    205/50/16, perfect

225/45/16 fit great, nice contact patch, tire selection is slim. go to tires-easy.com

225/40/16 looks goofy unless your lowered 3/3 or 4/4 all the way around

this is with the non 4x4 bed or fenders

What kind of drop is this factoring in? was planning on running 225/55/16 in the rear w 3/3

I tried doing some searching but couldn't find anything. I was thinking about doing a 3/4 lower and I need to shocks cause mine probably blew 10 years ago. My buddy said I didn't have to get lowering shocks and just run factory shocks from a corolla. Any truth to that?

I believe the Corolla rear shocks from 1970 through at least 1978 has different top mounts than the trucks, as for the fronts the Corolla has used struts from 1970 through present day. My current set up uses stock rear shocks with a 3" block and a pulled leaf, I do not see the need to change the shocks as the mounting plate only lost about 3/8" travel. The front I am currently using 1972 pinto shocks but I'm changing those out as they are only oil charged and not gas...I need more dampening in the front, when I brake or hit a bump the nose dives too much.

ok. i got a 4" block in the rear coming and will be doing 3' up front. so i can still run my stock length in the rear. You dont think the fronts of a post 78' corolla will fit?
