yeah i'm gunna keep it. it will help with fitment of the runner body.

however i HAVE noticed the axle lifting on acceleration from a stop in loose dirt. it feels like i have a small block in it the way the tires spin. while actually moving i haven't noticed anything too scary now that it's shocked.

since i'm not building it to drag race it's staying. i'm hoping the added weight of the runner helps with the spin. i wouldn't want a reverse in anything with power.

Looks good so far. How soon is the 4runner swap coming?

Are the links parallel to the ground at ride height? Kinda hard to tell from the pics... And are the link mounts on the axle the same height difference as the ones on the frame? (Are the links parallel to each other?)

the runner swap should start sometime after Bring The Noize which is on the 11-12th.

we're getting $6600 back on taxes which should be here in a couple days so i'm hoping to have the runner before the show and have it ready to pull of it's chassis.

as far as the links go the instant center is several feet behind the truck. i ride with the back up only about an inch and the bars are just below parallel. the main problem i see with the link is the lower tabs on the axle are mounted behind the uppers by about 2". it makes the pinion angle dive really bad at full lift, and the short uppers don't help much either.

but since i pretty much never have the back up it's not much of an issue for me. at ride height it rides and drives just about identical to my s10 that was static dropped 5". once i get the front lower controls triangulated and get some shocks on i'll really have no complaints about the ride. the front is just a bit bouncy right now.

Cool. Yeah, I still haven't gotten the shocks put on the front, had the stuff for months now...

I'm interested to see where this goes.

    worked on this today

here is a quick pic of when i picked up the runner lol

i tore down the 89 pickup and removed the fuel vent line, the extra line to the bspv, and all the cab and bed mounts as well as random old brackets.

then i got the runner all disconnected from it's chassis and pulled it. was fun by myself with only a cherry picker for help lol

    lifted off the 4x4 chassis

rolled the bagged chassis under it

got it bolted down at the core support. still gotta cut the body mounts of the runner chassis and weld them to the truck frame, as well as cut out the rear floor for the suspension to come thru.
