So first I'd like to thank Brian (BeefedTaco) for all his help, This guy goes the extra mile to make things perfect. I brought my truck to him to notch the frame, and notch the cross-members, install lower control arms and spindles in the front, and weld the differential. He ran into a couple unexpected problems like the driveshaft rubbing the gas tank and shot balljoints, and took extra time and labor to fixing the problems while still working around the budget I had. I couldn't be happier with my truck and really appreciate all the work he put into the truck. Anyone looking for work or parts made, he is the guy to talk to for some great work and good customer service. Here goes the run down in one post: I bought an 88 pickup; my second pickup because they are the best truck I've ever owned. Lowered it on blocks by beefed and some lowering spring. lower control arms and lowering spindles up front. currently stock shocks. 2005 350z electric seats with 4 point camlock harness. msd laser tach. and fiberglass widebody fenders all around and a fiberglass hood. 8in wheels in front and 10in in back. plan to take it to the track to test it out and see what I need to do. I plan on adding hydrolic bump stops to the rear to keep it stiff and stable . and also some good sways bars and better shocks etc. and one day a paint job which hopefully comes out better then my photoshop skillz...
thanks guys! I'll definitely keep updating as I go! and byronics I'd love some 18x9s, but it would be hard to find because I need a really negative offset to fill up the fenders, right now I think they are at -32 offset
Looking good bro. Slam it down some more throw on some 18x9 and 18x12 like CINN said and then your set.
I dont think it will be possible to lower it any more, I'm already around 6/6 drop with a little space between the notched frame. and in the front I am at the perfect height to where I only rub if i hit a bump on full lock because I ground down the fender wells and hammered in certain spots. The fenders make it look not so low because they have about a 4in flair in back and 5in flair in front.
hey shorty I think Ive seen fenders for your truck, but different style. Ill try to look for them again. and scrub, I've never noticed the difference between 2wd and 4wd valance but in your pic it looks longer? I have to cut my bumper and valance an inch off each side to line up straight with the fenders..
Yea the four wheel drive one is a bit bigger think about six inches tall The sides. Will bolt up. I used stainless screws for the Other bolt holes u can find them new on the web bout 30 bucks + ship
I fuxin love the baja fenders.... been kicking around the Idea for a few years now ....( now im pissed that I didnt do it first!!! ) lol but anyway It looks sweet man !!! good luck with the build
ohh and not sure where you are from... bit if you are in Cali. we should meet up and go slide some sh!t ... two 88 yota's sliding around????.... WHAT!!! now that is whats up ( fyi if you have blocks in the back you will NEED to make some type of upper link to get rid of the axle wrap )
