I looked and couldn't find one so I decided to start one. Share your mpg and help others increase theres if possible. I just started calculating my MPG and it cam at 17.8. I was wondering if there is any way I can get this number to about 20 mpg?

My 88 2WD Reg Cab W/22R got 27 till I put a mild cam in it. Now I get around 21-23 running around. I would like to rebuild my carb since it is 24 years old, but it runs so well and idles so good I am hesitant to fool with it.

'76 20R SR5 completely stock and with cat. I was getting between 9-11 mpg, now after rebuilding the engine and carb I get 16 mpg city only. I'm afraid to drive my truck on the freeway because It feels like every part of it is going to fall apart, that's why I don't have a exact highway number.

Truck is an 88 Fed Model Standard bed regular cab 4X2
    22R completely rebuilt
    rebuilt carb
    G series 4speed trans
    3.07 granny gear rear end.

Only mods are exhaust - 2" Diameter Lexus resonator 18" long feeds into 2 1/4" Tacoma Piping, Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler thru Tacoma reversed pipe exit.
Cat delete and smog pump delete

    Getting about 26 mpg - that's when i cruise 60mph+
it's a bit more challenging to drive slower and mind mpg here in SoCal.
    i get 30+ if i'm in 4th cruising at 40 mph.

Here we have E10 blend of gas which sucks for my carb and mpg.
    I'm guessing 10% less mpg.

In texas we get E10. It does royally suck. I remember when we used to not have E10 and I can tell there is a big difference.

My '85 averages 29 mpg running all these curvy, hilly co. roads and state hwys here ... Don't really take it on the interstate enough to say what i get there ... 22R all original motor ...

    94 XCab
1994 22RE Xcab with a W58 manual getting 20mpg the past tank with a LOT of hard driving (includes doing 115mph, and the same trip doing 90mph average, and other jackassing around the city streets).

I'm surprised I got 20mpg in that last gas tank, to be honest.

This includes winter cold starts, idled at least 30seconds prior to cold or hot driving.

    Technical:
    1994 Toyota Pickup XCab (~2900-3000lbs)
    22RE with 191k
    Intake and battery swap
    Custom Magnaflow catback
    New 02 sensor...
    3.41's in 8"2WDV6 axle
215/60/16 (similar to stock tire height)
EGR not connected (I could probably salvage an extra MPG with it connected)
PennzoilPlatinum 10W-30 5 qts and a Purolator PureONE PL30001 filter
    SC300 W58 with Pennzoil Synchromesh
    OEM weight flywheel
    OEM style Exedy clutch
87 octane (it says gas stations here are required at least E10 now... fml)

Driving around I usually shift at 2000RPM's if i'm going easy, earlier if i wanted to. Occasionally i'll shift up to 2500RPM's to scoot through traffic, and when I got WOT, I'll up shift at 4800RPM's.

    Last I checked I was getting just under 19 combined in the 78 with a mild 20/22r with a single 45 dcoe9 backed by a W58 and 4.10's.

My dad has an 84 x cab with a 32/36 that regularly pulls 29 mpg.

my best mpg with my 93 ext cab 22re auto was 23-24 with running 93 octane with lucas gas treatment every tank. haven't checked since i moved to springdale, ar. its a lot hillyer up here then in little rock, ar. i'm probably at around 19-20 now. im going to be putting a short ram intake on it very soon and a tune up. hopefully i can get 25-27 so i dont have to drive my wife's civic. i hate that car.
