I like Hankook. I have winter iPikes and they are great. Good rubber compounds.

I had the same problem around my windshield on my truck, it was on the top bottom and sides... I just grinded all the rust off and filled it in with short hair fiberglass and sanded smooth.. Ill see if i have any pics of what I did...

those look nice man, simple but the yellow line stands out

thanks, thats what ive been thinking, its a job i cant do myself as all work has to go through compliance for a cert, it should be easy enough to to whip the mounts off the engine and get some more made up.

decided to have a go at installing a radio,
after alot of filing sanding and even a soldering iron thrown in there somewhere (not for what it was intended for but was good for cutting out the plastic where the radio now sits
    [IMG]
now i just have to figure out where to fix it at the back
    [IMG]
i used my good plastic part so im glad i didnt stuff it up and a spare metal dash part so i can figure out how its going fit just in case something did go wrong and i didnt want to scratch my nicley painted dash.
so now it should be an easy enough job to swap over when done

if you go to a junkyard and find a truck with a good section of windshield channel cut a fairly large area around it and use it as a skin on your rusted areas

have you ever seen one of the last toyota stouts made, they look the same and have the six stud wheels as the 4X4 and sit around the same height as your last photo, although they were only rwd with a front beam axle.

here is a mid 70's stout, when the stouts were sold in the US they were only the lite stout and had only the five stud wheel pattern.

i have one of the first of them a 1962 model and the 15 inch 33 4x4 tires make them look good, otherwise this is mine and i live in queensland australia

The frame looks great. What did you use to paint it? Looks brand new and that is the look I'm after.

i went over it with grinder and got rid of all the rough bits from the factory welds (was quite messy with splater and bits of welding wire stuck to it)
then had chassis, diffs, springs and associated bits and pieces sandblasted and
primed with a good etching primer and then painted with a 2pac gloss black. i also put all bolts back where they came out of so they got a blast and paint aswell, and so i didnt lose them and knew where they went back in.
there is heap of paint products out there to use and like everything the more you look the more you confuse yourself on what to use
i still need to spray some rust proofing in side the chassis rails with something
