I just found this site and signed up. I currently have a 2009 Tacoma, but my first brand new car was a 1975 SR5 longbed pickup - had it a little more than 5 years and 125,000 miles when I went thru a rock wall, into a barn and totaled it. My question is: There is a section called "Pre-1975 Hilux and Stout Discussion " and one called "1976-1983 Pickup Discussion" - what happened to 1975. I read "Pre-1975" to mean 1974. Also, if I remember correctly, they changed the trucks in 1975 (and had the first SR5) - which lasted to 1978 (sometimes referred to as 3rd generation) - so if "Pre-1975" is supposed to mean "including 1975" and still seems strange to cutoff after the first year of the 3rd Gens. I'm new here, so please don't jump all over me <g> Thanks
I disagree. Pre-75 means just that. My pre '64 model 1894 Winchester is just that. It was produced before 1964, those made in 1964 are worth less money. I would assume that it is a typo of sorts....or that the site designer has some personal vendetta against the '75's.
i wouldnt stress to much about it lol as long as you knew what happened haha my 94 is is the 76-83 build up thread lol idk how it happened just did lol
ive wondered the same. why not have it be 72 and older and stouts, 73-78, 79-83s? lke the gens. and i think the 73-78s are considered a 2nd gen hilux. stout was its own line, and a 1 gen bodystyle.
