I got some 3" drop leafs from summit for my 88 base model and put them on last night. Problem is it's the same height it was before, still have a 2.5" gap between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender.

Got some 2" blocks today and plan on putting them on.

Do these just need to "settle" or something? Could the stock shock be holding it up?
    Thanks for input.

Bigger the blocks the bigger the drop..

maybe the old leafs already had one removed from the pack..? Chances are, if they're Belltech leafs they should be a drop leaf pack and not stock replacements, and I doubt the shocks are holding anything up, even though, technically, yes, you should run shocks that are a couple inches shorter but will most likely be fine with stock length as long as there is still 1.5" or more rod showing.

Well, half problem solved.. now you need some of these below to avoid bottoming out on the frame. They bolt into the factory holes in the frame.

    beautiful pitch lol.
I plan on making something similar this weekend though, crashing axle on frame just doesnt appeal to me.

pitch #2...sounds like you need a c-notch, not lower bumps. :)

Post up some pics when finished, we'd love to see the truck! :waytogo:

Those Belltech leaves will settle, but not 3".

    Beefed, are shorter shocks necessary?

just a quick question but........... when you snugged the bolts holding the leafs andd the shackle bolts, did you do it while it was up in the air?? remember, leaf bolts gotta be snugged up while the truck is on the ground or you will bind up the bushings and cause unwanted tension that wont let the suspension fully settle while at ride height. :waytogo:
