out of a 86 2wd... have a good 8 inch rear 3rd for sale. ((these are the 3rds you found in the 4speed equipped trucks with the 8 inch rear axles.)) this is a perfect upgrade for someone running smaller tires and is stretched out too far on highway rpms. you'll either need a 8 inch rear housing for the 5 lug or notch your existing housing for it. tested. no gear whining, or noise otherwise. $100. also out of an 85 2wd is another 8 inch 3rd with 3:07 gears. this 3rd is locked via welded rear diff. This is not your average weak welded rear. this 3rd has been professionally welded in at a fab shop using chromoly plating. reinforced by two 1/4 inch thick chromoly plates, this same setup is holding well and strong in my pickup as well as in a 7.5 3rd in a 300hp turbo tacoma. trust me..... something else will give before this diff does tested. no gear whine, or noise otherwise $150. 1 full axle ((minus 3rd)) drum to drum. axle is out of a 83 2wd. good housing and axles. e-brake cables are chopped, otherwise in good shape. $50. items located in San Diego California. if you want it shipped, post a zip and city for shipping quote.
shipping on the locked 8inch ??? I had the factory 8inch and 4 speed but now I have a celica 5 speed so the gearing is way off.. what will this do for me gear wise ? 33625 tampa fl
if you changed the tranny but not the diff, then it will not change your gearing from where it is now. is your gearing too high? or too low? if its too high, you can go to a 3:57 ((7.5 rear end)) and will directly swap with your 8.0 inch rear end, and will lower your gearing. if its too low, there's really no other choice for lower gearing unless the celica's shared the same type of 7.5 rear end that the pickups did..... but i find it unlikely. ill check on shipping for the locked diff for you.
i like my gearing.. i think its a little high and i would like more torque but i need posi traction... Its impossible to drive in the rain... it will not stop spinning and i would like some 2 wheel burnouts and launches
lemme say its beyond fun in the rain! .......drifter paradise! haha! REAL 2wd traction is nice..... <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://s80.photobucket.com/flash/player.swf?file=http://vid80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/alisn4x4/projectlo-lux168.flv"></embed> cheapest shipping i found was 48 bux through USPS ((7 day shipping)) ........diff weighs in at a heafty 58lbs
haha! i get asked this often..... i love the way it sonds. mean and clean 4-1 Downey long tube header, catless, with a 14" magnaflow, 2 1/2" piping dumped at the stock exit location.
man oh man, I want it. I wanna see if I can sell my stock 3.07s to this one guy if he gets a hold of me.. but just curious.. wanna trade for a clifford matrix alarm system its a 2 way pager with lcd cost like 240 I think.. Ill pay for shipping and throw cash as well oh ya what are you mods ?? I know youve got more then exaust and headers
honestly, i need the cash so i can offset the cost of the lightweight flywheel imma buy off the other member...... or im gonna be in big trouble with somebody for having a 200+ dollar hole in my account one really good running 22R with 153K original miles on the clock...... oh that and im also running 8 degrees more on timing. other than that, im running bone stock motor with a 95 5-speed tranny to 3:07 locked gears, starion 16x9 lightweight wheels and 245/50 series tires. it just honestly runs that good oddly enough, it'll be exactly the same amount to ship it to you as it is to titan......(($48)) where abouts are you?? i figured it was pricey since its going all the way out to the farthest east coast area.
here's a couple more unofficial "test procedures" <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://s80.photobucket.com/flash/player.swf?file=http://vid80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/alisn4x4/projectlo-lux169.flv"></embed> <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://s80.photobucket.com/flash/player.swf?file=http://vid80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/alisn4x4/projectlo-lux170.flv"></embed> <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://s80.photobucket.com/flash/player.swf?file=http://vid80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/alisn4x4/projectlo-lux164.flv"></embed> this one kinda came out too dark....... not enough lighting but you get the idea...
SD, grounds lives pretty close to me, weve met up before..I need to pick up some parts I left at his house.. If you wanna work something out, I can pick up the flywheel for you and ship it to you and you ship me the gears... also how easy is it to install ? Ive never done one..
honestly, its not as horrible as everyone thinks it is. tight corners you learn to glide through, and any other time you dont know its back there unless you need it this diff is one seriously beefey mass. the guy out here running the turbo tacoma is running drag radials on it.... meth injection and around 15 lbs of boost i think?? last i heard anyways and he's loving it. honestly, i think im just gonna take in this unlocked diff and weld it up as well since both you and grounds are interested. lockers for everyone!
well hey, how much is it to have it done ? I might just weld mine up if its cheaper.. i really want it but I dont have so much cash right now..
lol fixed! hmm i wanna run that exhaust setup before i go 2JZ... well temporary? love it tho. what will you put in your truck's rear end later?
ill find out how much he wants since im gonna need the other one welded up. ill get back to you guys soon as i find out. this guy is hard to get a hold of.
If ya'll like being locked up buy this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-9...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Just be sure you have the 8" rear axle...
