My 04 did great, I drove and 4x the piss out of it and still kept tickin. Gas was $4 a gallon a few years later and me and a supercharged v6 were going through $80 week just to work. The brand spankin new ones are garbage, nissan has kinda let me down since 08.

avoid new jeeps, i do bodywork on them every week at a jeep dealer. the door hinges on them rust out in no time then they try to sell you a rusty vehicle for 40 grand. thats ridiculous

Sorry Audi TT is cool but I would rather get a R32 same car with more room inside...

And the choices are down to the FJ and the Jeep...

The Jeep is still in the picture due to the convertible aspect of it. Also it get a new motor for 2012 which has more power and better MPG.

Drove a FJ again over the past weekend and I felt claustrophobic inside but if I go this route I'd add a sunroof to it.

Still havent found the right car yet.

Here is the look of either car I would go with when i make my decision up...

Jeep is sick but FJ is sicker. I do think that Jeeps color is sweet, maybe if it came with onboard air and a roof rack and wench it would be sweet. Either way good choices man.

the jeep is sweet but the fj is garbage. I know a few people who have them and they have terrible mpg for a slow no power motor. Id go with a pathfinder, if you think a crv is too small your going to hate the fj...

Only reason I didn't put the Pathfinder/Xterra on here is the resale value on Nissan's don't hold as nice as the 4runners.. I do like them but Id hate to drop 35k+ and in a year I lose a third...

new toyotas have just as bad resale value as nissan, think about it when you walk into either dealer they always offer some stupid price off like 2k 5k even 10k sometimes, but walk into a honda or vw dealer and ask for any money off and your crazy. they hold value. Now older toyotas, thats another story they hold their value.

I'd have to go with the 42 mile to the gallon diesel jetta!

Don't get a Tundra, I get about 16 miles to the gallon! :brickknock:

True some rides hold value better than others and people are being ******* cause of all the problems Toyota has been having but ALL cars loose value. If you scared about loosing a 3rd in the first year then maybe you shouldnt buy a NEW ride. I bought my 350Z off the sales floor for $32,683 in 2003 and in 2008 (5 years) sold it for $11,000 with about $15,000 worth of upgrades on it. It sucked bad but thats life, but think about the kid who bought it he was super stoked. Maybe go buy an older Cruiser or something.

I started looking at X5 diesel's but the price range was a lil out of my reach. rumor has it that Jeep will put a Diesel in the 2012 Wranglers so if that holds true then i will for sure get that one instead.

Ive looked at used FJ's however theres a inner fender problem bulge issue so I rather get a 2010 on up where that is resolved.. and the price of the 2010's i can get a brand new 2011 for a few K more.

Time will only tell. Hope to have something by the end of Aug unless the diesel rummor is true then ill hold out and just pick up snow tires for the 4runner and hope to make it up the mtn with RWD :D should be interesting nonetheless...
