I think i may have narrowed it down some, but im still curious as to what exactly to do.

turn signals dont work, but hazards do. so the lights all work.
the fuse blows instantly, and i can hear the relay clicking when i use the switch. so i know the switch is good, but the moment i flick the switch, the gauge cluster starts flickering, and the fuse blows. the signals dont work in this short time frame.

im new to this sort of thing, but im not new to wiring and whatnot, so it will be easy for me to diagnose.

well did some tracing and found where the blinker relay was. disconnected it, cleaned the contacts, and now it all works. woot!

got a short somewhere...i found a lot of bad wires behind the rear bumper of my '84 when it did the same...1/2 a roll of black tape oughtta do the trick...cut,splice,tape....worked for me...they seem to chafe on the bumper brackets and go to ground...
