When you run propane, you use it in its liquid form. I've done a conversion.

Anyways, with a little tweaking this car idles just fine. The owner came and drove it around on the street (I won't since the car has no title, no plates, not legal). It idled fine at the lights, cruised at freeway speed with no issues, and was chirping the tires at every light, and according to him he was maybe 3/4 throttle at best.

So in short, it idles fine, and is running great. It just needs some smaller main jets and it should be good to go. If you build a setup correctly I think it will work well, but there are a lot of things that could be done wrong, and you wouldn't be happy with the setup. I would have no problem building something like this for a 22R and driving it on the street.

well that's cool. glad to hear it. might have to start that when this mazdaspeed turbo is released at work. my mistake on the pane, i thought it was only a gas after the converter/warmer deal that warms up the liquid into the gas before it goes into the mixer. good work. keep on wrenchin.

Ehh, I put it on the lift and got geared up to start the exhaust. Its really hard to find time now. After being sick for over a month, I am behind on customer stuff.

Well I'm still on budget. I fudged a little on the exhaust though, so I'm not going to count that. I will probably actually work on it a bit tomorrow. But I need to do some machining, and at least set the motor in the D50 frame too.

Well I worked on it for about an hour and a half before I had to leave. Got a couple phone calls and people stopping it, the usually stuff that keeps me from working on it. I will post the pics off my phone when I get to the shop. I only got the downpipe and portion under the cab started, with a cat on it. I'm determined to finish it now, but I think I might need another V-band clamp for the back.

Okay here are pics. I might not be able to go much further without another V band. I will have to see if the exhaust will come out without needing to split in half. Its a tight fit.

I should just forget the muffler and run a stack, right?

i am very interested to see where you think you can run a muffler

...and since you say its a "shop" truck, im guessing it will somehow retain the use of a bed, or a shollow bed anyways to haul around equipment....

so, just a thought, not sure if you have the exhaust figured out yet but, here was a thought...... would a round canister muffler fit under the cab allowing you to run up and over the frame after the cab then dumping it in front of the rear wheel? ........ like i said, just a thought.

Well, I've had this planned out for a while. I picked out a muffler that fits, and is my brand preference. And I am doing all stainless from the V-band back. And with all the tube I added under the cab to work with my Satchell link, there isn't much room left. I used all the room available for the cat. I could have fit like a Hushpower, but I feel like they are overpriced.

I am also super picky about exhaust on my vehicles, and I really prefer full exhaust, past the axle. I've got the muffler roughly in place now, and starting the back portion. I will post some pics in a little while. Maybe after lunch. I'm really happy with the last piece I made, I was able to fuse it 100% with no filler.

im really interested to see how you did it fit and finish. exhaust on allot of trucks always seems to be such an afterthought. didnt think exhaust sat that well of an issue with you. post em up when you get a chance man :waytogo:

I posted a good pic of the kind of fit and finish I am doing. I am really picky when it comes to my own exhaust. I do a decent amount of exhaust work, but usually not on mini trucks. Usually when I bag a truck the exhaust is the least of their concern, and they just want the stock exhaust "recycled" or whatever the cheapest fashion is.

I'm picky because its something I listen to every day. I don't want it to be annoying. I bought a 91 Toyota, and it had a Flowmaster dump in front of the axle. First thing I did was put on a turbo muffle rand run exhaust to the roll pan.
