Yes indeed! . I am still blown away that I that turbo. I have thought about selling it but I just keep thinks how well it will look and how much better it will perform and it only cost me 806 so I am just going to keep it. I have been trying to find out how to move it sense I put it in the wrong section. If someone knows how to please tell me lol
That's what Rodney tell me all the time. He is still part of the build and is just as excited about all the planed upgrades as I am.
So tomorrow is the install day! Will get plenty of pictures and maybe some good videos to show you all on Sunday!
Install Complete!!! Had some major issues with the exhaust manifold. Not one danm thing was right on it, (bolts did not line up, the wastegate hit the block, the turbo mount sat too low and could not mount a turbo to it at all) We had to create a 1 inch spacer just to mount the turbo and grind out ever hole so we could bolt it to the block but we made it work. The turbo made a big change in the powerband. The power is more gradual and smooth. Its just perfect. Same for the new QA1 shocks. No body role with them installed and I have a lot of adjustability. They help so much with the extra weight up front thanks to the 2jz. Also got a pic of the old turbo. Totally messed up from shaft play, and this was also the reason for the oil burning in the exhaust. Looking for some info on brakes too! if anyone can tell me the easiest way to get lager/better breaks it would be much appreciated!
I heard that about that header .. they use to sell them on ebay cheep !! .. I almost bought one , but didnt .. glad to hear you got it "fixed" .. is the computer tunable ? or are you using a piggyback ? .
better check your AFR with that bad boy, dont wanna lean out down low and melt a pistola what brand headder did you use? im surprised it didnt fit, 2jz's are common running a single turbo.
I got the header they have off of driftmotion. It was just a mess! I turned the boost down from 18psi to 9-10psi till i get the entire fuel setup done(fuel cell, feed & return lines, injectors and fuel rail, fuel regulator) Having a really hard time finding some H z injectors I don't want to have to get the resistor so the search will continue lol. Yeah dont get one from DM. Just not worth it. I am running a piggyback. Can not remember what brand it is tho. The old owner was the one that bought it.
i already sent you the link to high and low z injectors from fuel clinic here are the 775 high z ones 775cc JDM Toyota Supra TT 2JZ Top-feed Injector Set (High-Z) also you ordered the 2jz GTE manifold not the GE right? they have way different bolt patterns. edit: no wait i can see in your pics that its the GTE version...wow that sux that it didnt bolt up.
Yeah it was just a messed up in every way. Will I need to get a new fuel rail for those injectors?? and what one would you recommend? I thought that the OE set up was side feed.... So I am pretty positive i will need a new fuel rail.
ya the stock rail sucks, there are a few places to get rails for cheap, or you can spend 200 bones and get a nice one. a rail is a rail ( unless you go full ebay chinese ), just make sure if fits the injectors.
So I think I am going to call that company you referenced me to and find out about there fuel rail kits. See if i can get one with the 775cc H-z injectors
You're talking about brakes now. It's been done here that you can use a MK3 Supra spindle with the brakes and tie rods (half supra, half pickup) and bolt it on to the trucks. It gives a 3" drop if I remember correctly. Also remember to setup the tierods so they don't give that crazy bumpsteer.
Little status update for you guys. Just orders some small but much needed parts. Ordered: Synchronic BOV DEI Titanium Turbo Shield DEI Titanium Exhaust Wrap Need to do: Find a 2jzgte manual ECU Relocate the ECU inside firewall Start on the cage Soon to come: Fuel Cell Braided Fuel feed and return lines New fuel Rail New Larger Injectors (775cc) Boost back up to 18psi (running ~9psi now)
you dont need the man ecu, the auto ecu should work with a man if you dont care about check engine lights.
After doing a lot of reading and talking with guys on club NA-T they all warned me about the auto ecu and getting a lean spike at 4500rpm. I found a manual ecu for 160 shipped so just waiting on it to come in.
So today on my truck: Hit a pot hole and this is what it did lol. Running on just the leaf springs makes for a bumpy ride.
