Took it to my old auto body instructor to have the frame straightened, he also fit up some new sheet metal:

I'm currently in the process of replacing the unrepairable panals:

That really shows Toyota vs gm build quality considering that blazer weights at least a 1000lbs more.

I was in a daze right after the crash, but I saw that the driver was female. So...

I didn't think about that, but I actually like the sealed beams anyway.

    and stop sign runners.

Yeah that guy is the instructor I had when I took autobody, He's awesome at everythang. Everythang? Everythang.

It was a hard hit for both, I pushed my passenger door out about eight inches at the top with my body. Head mostly I think.

Most of the impact the Blazer took was right on that door jamb. Where my truck took more of a glancing blow.

Yeah all the damage was forward of the suspension cross member. If it had been a 2wd, it probably would have bent farther back under the engine.

Nah that was its first encounter of the no drivin' kind.

Im going to remove the other wheel house tomorrow hopefully.

Or hand fabricated long travel A arms on a refabbed frame.:D

I was just given an 89 x cab that was in an odd wreck like that. Although it didn't do much damage to the frame like yours, it actually folded between the a arm and cab mount below the firewall. Those IFS frames do some odd things when hit just wrong.

That is on my wish to do list.

That would be a lot of work, but sick.

Yeah, I was fortunate, as I replied in a previous post, all my damage was forward of the suspension, but its all back within specifacations now.

I can't decide where to get the replacement wheel houses from. The only place I've found the 4x4 ones is Toyota (expensive). From what I can tell the cheapy 2wd replacements will work. Though they're not that cheap. I've scoured the junk yards, but haven't had much luck.

I'll be working on my bagged c1500 and my uncle's c10 for the next week or so, but I need to get my wheel houses meanwhile. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only difference between them that I see is that the 2wd ones are cut to fit around the suspension. The 4wd ones are extended down more, and the passenger side has a bolt on panel you can remove for access to the oil filter.

V6s and Four Runners are a whole difference story.

    I didn't see any wheelhouses at rockauto.com.

I've found wheelhouses on the net but It seems only the driver's side is readily availible. I found a couple of companys who's sites say they have the driver's side as well, but they didn't look very trustworthy to me.

I've been calling junk yards and everybody says they got nothing.

Ive also been looking for junkers in peoples yards, no luck.

I need help locating these things, so, any body?

I got the truck running and moving on its own again. It drives great and I haven't even had it aligned yet! I also primed the new sheet metal to keep the sun from destroying the e coat and allowing it to rust. This is about as far as I can go without some wheel houses. I NEED SOME WHEEL HOUSES AAAHHH!
