been looking around, only filler plates i see are for tail lights and tailgate handles. i'm looking for some for the antenna, anyone seen those around?
i just use little pieces of scrap metal, put them under the hole and trace it, then i cut it out with tin snips and weld it in. i even made my tail fillers. might be because i'm cheap, or just because i can
i dont think i would fiberglass mine i agree with burnzya its easier and cheaper to make your own and weld them in no since in buying sumthing you can make yourself
make it, you probably have a piece the right size laying around somewhere, hell make all the fillers. i did
ya except i dont really have any scrap metal and that just takes more time, guess thats what i'll have to do, figured itd be easier to just buy em since i've seen them for other trucks. oh well, thanks anyway
well if your wanting to just fill the antenna hole you wouldn even have to use that i have used the sheet metal they use in hvac duct work which is easy to cut and trim and welded it in you just have to be really careful not to burn thru it when your welding
glassss ittttttt it takes 20 to 30 mins to do it right, and mine is holding up fine !! post some more pics of your truck ! and what you plan to do with it, I wanna see more teaser pics
weld it!!!!!!!!!!!! glass belongs on vettes and really cool custom interiors i wish i knew how to make , maybe the s-10 filler would be close to what the yota is.
Do it right , make a metal filler, weld it in ,finish it off with a good grade body filer(Ever Glass)! You will re grate it if you 1/2 ass it.
Yea being such a small hole its really simple to fill. Another thing you can try is again cut a small filler plate to shape and size, then use some body panel epoxy. The stuff is SUPER strong and it eliminates the possibility of warping the steel when welding or burning through! Then all you gotta do is smooth it all out with a little bondo!
Glassing it is one way, but the "correct" longer lasting way is to cut out a metal patch and weld it in.
I can make insane custom interiors out of fiberglass... but metal and I don't get along so well. I did weld my own antenna and door handles though
i tried fiberglass.... once. it was honestly sticky to the touch for 2 weeks. i think i'm going to just do a steel dash.
if you really want to learn how to do fiberglass rent (and copy) or buy these dvds Select Products you have to learn some technique and what materials to use... a lot of "fiberglass dashes" have no fiberglass at all actually.
Trap, that link is going no where for me... I'd like to do my interior, if you've done some, post up some pics!!!
