So the guys at the suspension shop said that it would probably rub to beat the band if I lowered the truck 3/3 with the beltech setup and then ran 205/65/16's in the front and 235/65/16's in the rear with the starions. Does this sound accurate? and if I am to run the is 3/3 setup what size tires do I need to get for the starions to work?

I'm lowered ~6" all around, give or take an inch.
I'm running 215/60/16's up front, and those are smaller than the factory 205/75/14's I had. I know for sure if I had 215/65/16's up front (larger than factory), it will will like no other.

In the rear, I have the 215/65/16's and they usually don't rub. I had the 3" drop in the rear of my truck before and with stock tire height, it didn't rub. The only time it rubs is the taller tires touching the wheel wells in the bed. minorly.

235/65/16's in the rear might be a tad "tall". I think taller than stock too. Try 235/55(or 60)/16's and see if that helps.

    205/65/16 and 235/60/16 wouldn't hurt.

what size width starions are you running?

if you are running the staggered set 16x7 and 16x8, and dont plan to go much lower than 4/4, you can run up to a 215/55 series tire. any bigger and you may run into rubbing issues up front. i still think 205/55 or 205/50 is an ideal size for these wheels and decent drop.

here is an example of a truck i did a 4/3 drop on with starions. he was running a 205/55 up front and a 215/55 out rear i think.

yeah I have the staggard set of starions. So what is the difference in the 215 vs the 205 and also the 50 vs 55 size?

Ideally I would like to go a little wider/taller in the rear to give it a nose down stance

    215mm vs 205mm <<< those are width
50%vs55% <<< Aspect ratio of the sidewall.

Aspect ratio really is the percentage of the width, used to determine a sidewall size.

    215/50/16's
    205/55/16's

    Let's break it down.

215/50/16 is a 215mm wide tread, and the sidewall is 50% of that, on a 16" rim.
205/55/16 is a 205mm wide tread, and the sidewall is 55% of that, on a 16" rim.

Lemme know if you need more info etc

I'd get 215/55/16 for the front and 225/55/16 for the rear. It'll be a tad wider in the rear, and slightly taller. This way, it'll look nice on the Starions, and still give it that meaty look. How much sidewall do you want?

With that similiar setup, and 3/3, you can get by without rubbing, the MOST you may need to do is just hammer the pinch welds in the fender wells up front, a very minor thing.

    205/65/16 = 26.5"

    215/50/16 = 24.4"

    205/55/16 = 23.9"

If it was my truck, I would go with this:

    205/40/16 (22.4") front

    245/45/16 (24.6") rear

You could also just drop the front a little more to get the nose down stance. My truck is probably around a 6" drop in the front, and my tire height is about 22.7". No rubbing in the front, but it did take some work.

See I like the idea of having a nice sidewall w some meat on it like Cin was talking about. I like the ride height of the kyn's truck but the tires need more to them. To me anyways if its going to be low, fill the fenderwells w something

you will likely want like a 205/55 then...... should be a nice meaty sidewall without going overboard, yet round off the tread nicely.

the difference between a 205 and a 215 tire, is about 1 inch wider tread. difference between a 55 and a 50 series tire is abotu a half inch, but it varies with the aspect ratio and sidewall series combinations.

So if KYNG is really running this setup

    205/40/16 (22.4") front

    245/45/16 (24.6") rear

    and topcop wants more...

    215/45/16 (23.62")
    245/50/16 (25.65")
Both give an inch taller in height, but the front is BARELY wider (nothing wrong with that extra rubber, only .46")

Anything ~25" and lower will not rub as much. 25" with ~6" drop and beating edges and wells will get by, 24" tires won't need much work, less to deal with, and 23" tires and under are just easy game :) This applies to the front fenders. The only way to really rub in the rear is get tall wide tires, which doesn't apply until you get a 6" drop and cnotch.

Right but keep in mind that I have the staggerd starions, 16x7 Fronts, 16X8 Rears. So wouldn't I want to be wider in the back?

For the rear, you could do 255/45/16. 245's do fine for most 8" wide wheels. How much meat do you want in the rear? What kind of look? 245-255 the sidewall will begin to stretch less. find me examples of what kind of look you want. we're here to help you try to get it to look the way you want it on the first try :waytogo:

oh, and I'd read some online reviews. I myself have never heard of such tire brand. That's just me.

I have no problem buying more pricey name brand performance tires where applicable, but for my 2wd pickup, as long as they hold air it's good to go. I have Nankang tires on my truck that cost about $50 each. Those ebay tires seem a little expensive for generic tires, though.

    ^^ Yup!
as long they are known for quality and are considered safe, I'll say go for it. I'm sure you can find cheaper better tires locally.

Riken Raptors are alright, are those cheap? Maybe Nexens, my friends have had good experience with those.
