YouTube - StarDrive Push Button Start StarDrive : Powering the Automotive Lifestyle I was wondering what everyone would think of this. Considering buying it! Info on it How Does It Work? Glad you asked! Walk to the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket (or purse, ladies) and when in range, your security system is disarmed, the doors unlock, and the ignition system becomes active. The range of StarDrive's RFID is approximately 8 feet (depending on the antenna location). Slide behind the wheel, depress the brake pedal, and press the start / stop button to engage the motor. Shutting off the engine is just as hassle-free. Come to a complete stop, depress the brake pedal, push the start / stop button, and the motor stops. After stopping the engine, the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) keeps accessories like your radio and power windows active until the door is opened or after an elapsed time of 5 minutes. Walk away and passive arming automatically sets your car alarm so you'll never forget again. Security Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID, is the new generation of intelligent bi-directional technology and auto electronic alarm systems. It's a dual-frequency wireless system, combined with code hopping and 64-bit encryption technology to avoid the electronic key from being duplicated and ensure security. StarDrive features include: Passive proximity "Smart Key" FOB Bidirectional Passive Keyless: Max distance 5-8 ft Manual long-range lock / unlock, trunk release, and panic: Max distance 100 ft Door lock / unlock control relays onboard Starter kill Trunk release output Shock sensor 120db siren StarDrive is Invisible to Thieves! With StarDrive, the ignition cannot be picked because it has no keyholes or slots in which anything can be inserted. From the outside, the system has only a button with a status light. Start Button Status Lights ACC light is on when the unit is in accessory only mode. ON light is on when the ignition is on. LOCK light shows the status of the alarm / security. START / STOP ENGINE are illuminated when the unit is active. This is helpful in locating the button at night.
yeah but now you have to get power door locks too lol.. I can see this turning from 450 to 700 bucks easy
What about those of us with shaved handles?...I really wouldn't want the doors popping open because I walked by my truck. Also what about the fact that I may be hanging out in my garage and every time I get near or far from my vehicle, the doors luck/unlock. Just seems like it might be annoying as I never leave my keys anywhere, they are always in my pocket.
Seems like a good system for a daily driver that doesnt get any work done to it. One that just gets used for driving. Would get annoying after a while.
Keyless Push button Ignition system from Digital Guard Dawg digital guard dawg has a 2go keyless system that will work with shaved or lambo door 200 bucks more for the system but can be tuned to do alot of thing
yeah its really similar to what alot of the newer yotas and nissan now have on it.. I do think its a cool mod... really is there any logic to mods besides whatever is cool to you
Apparently so. My 78 & 80 both have a toggle and pushbutton start. The rest of my rigshave the keys in the ignition at all time. There issomething to be said about small town life.
I see your point although other than paint I don't do any "mods" that don't serve a purpose related to comfort or performance. This ignition system isn't too terribly "ricey" but I still put it in the same catagory as stick on fender exhaust ports and neon underbody lights.
