Not those rear bumpers with tow ball, but just the hitch. Those kind that are hidden under the bed...I don't want to ruin the look. I need to install one so I can deliver the trailers that I sell. Tried craigslist with no luck. Thanks.
build one all bolt on hitches for these trucks are a drop style meaning they drop below the bumper and come out there. Build one that has the reciever behind the licence plate and get a licences plate flip up kit.
I want one pretty bad, since they do not make one, I am thinking of having a few made if someone is interested
doubt it lol, just pickup some 1/2 inch plate, some 2inch id square 1/2" wall, weld a long piece of plate inbetween your frame rails, center your square tube, cut out 2 1/2" square, weld in square tube, brace tubing using triangles, repeat on frame rails, and viola hidden hitch
if they use the roll pan with a licence plate spot you can put the hitch behind there and cut a hole in the roll pan....
PLEASE~ I dont want a hole in my rollpan. Not that heavy. Small motorcycle trailer weights under 200lbs.
that defeats the purpose of a clean looking roll pan, I dont really ever see those on trucks, mainly the whole flush ones... noooo noo holess... Im talking about making a bracket from side to side where you can bolt on or bolt off the actual 2 inch receiver which will hang an inch or so below your pan... so when your not towing, just take it off.
honestly you are going to scrape constantly if you have it come out under your roll pan and since you sit so low. To have your cake and eat it too you'll need to have the hitch be welded further back along your frame then build a drop reciever (that is braced at the corners) that comes out of the hitch drops straight down and then straight out under the roll pan.
Sounds like a nice set up. Think you can have some made? We don't have that much welders here in SoCali.
it wont scrape it its a inch or 2 under the pan, maybe if it were bagged. Im lowered 4 inches in the rear but surely high enough not to scrape even on speed bumps.. and im not following your idea but no biggie, if my idea doesnt work ill scrap it... also its not being made to tow a ton of weight... maybe 200 pounds tongue weight tops
do you already have a roll pan on ur truck? if not u can buy one here http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?actiontype=recacc&idno=8373 and im pretty sure they have a kit so that u can put the re receiver behind the license plate and just have it so the plate goes down to put in the receiver
Thanks for the input. Yeah, but I've already have a rollpan and custom license plate bracket...I hate to mess with it any more.
