I,m not all that up to date on the HID lights, but I thought they run lower wattage with higher output than stock lights, and they rate them in Kelvin or sumthin and it has to do with color of the light and not the output, more of a visual thing, but the 6000K or 8000K are supposedly the best all around for best lighting with the 8k slightly less output but more blue tinted?

 

yesss the number is just a color only the blue and white are btter then say purple?12000k or yellow 4300k? Hid kits dont burn wires... keep wires off the bulb, your fine...they do run lower wattage

 

I have to disagree... I think all retro-fits and STOCK projector headlights SUCK! they dont give a constant blinding to you but once you pass your eyes through the beam you get hit with the intense light all at once ! I haver un simple hid kits on : nissan titan, toyota yaris, toyota tacoma(05), my 89 pickup, 02 gti, and 03 gli and they are not blinding to other people driving by.. but I do know alot of civics and neons with round headlights blind the SH!T out of you with hids.

 

hid kit does not need any mods, it plugs in bro.since out harness is much older (sealed beam) you have to mess with the wires till they are right (only 3 wires) if a bulb goes out which rarley happens then put a regular bulb back in but UNPLUG your ballast...order a replacement bulb online for 20 bucks
