im trying to pass emissions and getting a very high no reading saying it's running lean. the check engine light says the same thing, lean. i've tested my gas cap on another truck and it works fine but on mine it does not. im wondering if theres a leak in one of the lines on top of the tank that is cracked or something.
does anyone know if this is affecting my problem?

 

Mine has a tendancy to overflow *under the hood* if I tighten the gas cap all the way down. Maybe the problem is related, but so far I haven't found a fix for it!

 

If a EFI engine the return line goes through the charcoal canister than to the engine.. If you don't have a shop manual showing all ,print out from the computer. Than follow & check all hoses,connections ,etc.

 

What if all of that stuff has been yanked out of the truck lol.

whatever emmisions stuff came on the vehicle needs to be there so itl pass smog in CA. Im on the same BS right now. My truck aint passin.

 

Thank god i'm not in that horrible state!

Also: Mine was doing the overflow stuff even with the cannister and all the rest in the truck.
