i have replaced the timing cover and timing set and my chain snapped after 2 weeks of replacing it so i replaced the timing set again because the tensioner failed the first time now 2 weeks after the second swap my tensioner is not working any clues as what it could be i bought my timing set at autozone
Upper and lower gears on the right direction??? top bolt in oil pump is the correct length not binding tensioner?? overtightening the tensioner distorting it?? a few ideas to start with.
When you put the new chain on did you put on a new tensioner or did you leave the old tensioner with grooves in?
Something must've been wrong man, I did mine with a company on ebay Full kit (timing cover, metal guides, gears, chain, oil pump, water pump ,and everything else) for under $200 and havent had a issue at all, and came with a warranty too!
