I'm new to the site here! I have a 93 dlx xtra cab 2wd with drop spindle in the front I'm running front wheel drive offset rims on it rtx 17 inches wheels... They don't rub but looks ****ty on the truck and they are deep inside the wheels wells. I want to know if it's possible to put 8 inches wide rims with zero offset?? I don't want any rubbing. I have the stock chrome fender trim aswell so no fender rolling will be done here. I know toyota supra wheels will fit. With a spacer or with a oversize machined center bore. Will it rub???? I don't know wich way to go... please help me guys!
Im looking at doing wheels and I have drop spindles... BJ swap and loosened torsion bars. Took some friends wheels and what I got was a +30 for the front with a roll will fit nice a tight. +35 is playing it same. Back a +30 will fit a nice roll a +25
One thing I found is that if you stretch the tire slightly, you can fit more wheel with less rubbing. I'm stretching a 205/40-18 on my fronts, which are 7.5" wide wheels and 235/40-18's on the rear 9.5" wheels.
yeah I know that Litneon but you running wide front fender on your truck and you got rolled fender in the back for sure... And that's two thing I don't want to do on my truck. For Crazy Kat matt, how much your speedo is off? Maybe I will put some 16 or 17 inches wheels and a Ok tire size to keep my speedo accurate.
hahahaha i dont even pay attention to my speedo anymore its off by so much, im still trying to find a shop in houston that can calibrate them.
This really depends on what fender you go with, what size rim, and how tight you want it. If you have the time, the best thing to do is measure your hub to fender clearance with the rim off. Once you know that you can determine what size and offset you need. If you have the 2wd fender its going to be different than the 4X4 fenders. If you roll the 2wd fenders then you have more clearance than not. Just depends...
Yup good point. I want to keep the front 2wd fender untouched with the stock chrome trim. I want 16 or 17 inches rims depending on what i can put my hands on. Do you think the 17 inches supra wheels will clear the front fender? I know they fit the back but the front... i'm affraid it will rub
Not sure without the specs. I need length and width of the rim and offset. I am about to swap my fenders to the 4X4s so if you can get that for me, I'll measure it before since this seems to be something that comes up a lot.
i'm removing the wheels tomorrow to see what's the spec of the rims... and then I will let you know and I will mesure the space between the hub and the iner lip of the fender.
I have some 17 inches 7.5 wide with a +45 offset on it. 224-45R17 tires. For the back: got 1 inch spacer and I still have a 1.0 inch gap to fil to be flush. For the front: I have a 1.5 inches gap to fill. I have minimal rubbing on the control arm at full lock when I park the truck. My guess will be a 17x8 rim with a +30 offset clear everything without rubbing and will look better... Maybe a set of polished mustang svt cobra 5 spoke will look good.
Well, based on your measurements you have 2" of rim in front of your mounting surface and 5.5 to the back. For the rear, if you add the spacer and the gap you have 4" as your hub to fender clearance. With a 8" wide rim you'd need a 0 offset. For the front you would need like +12 offset. Again that's based off of your measurements and there are other things to factor in like camber angle, subtracting flange depth, actual spacer width, size of tire, etc. but in theory if you have 4" to fill and you have a 8" wide rim you need 0 offset or 3.5" of space would be +12. One inch is about 25mm.
