Scored some old school sidedrafts for the 20R for a very good price. Need the manifold, hard ware, and some velocity stacks yet, but they're getting there. Im also doing a little polish on them to bring them back to life.

Removed all the crappy near stripped screws, and replaced them with stainless cap screws.

No clue. But a TE71 or MarkII Cresida, or even Corona doesn't seem too far fetched.

Can I ask how good of a deal those were? I might have a manifold for you... Not sure if I'm going to let it go yet tho....

only thing they could of come off of is a GTV celica.

toyota didnt put side drafts stock on nothing cept that car.

GTV world wide was from 70-81, both 1st (70-77) and 2nd gen (78-81) but the 2nd gen is stupid uber rare.

major difference is the 18rg motor n side drafts
160hp dual overhead cam 4 banger in 70's, can you imagine that in a 2100lb car:evil:

tho that car never made it to the states, they said "its has too high of a power to weight ratio, with minimal safety measures" :doah:

ive also heard that carina's came with em, but have yet to see proof of it.

Awesome thanks for the clarification. The only thing is im looking at pictures of the 2-TG and they don't look a lot alike. Could these be aftermarket? Did Mikuni do any OEM stuff for Toyota?

Interesting lol. They were a good deal at just $120. After shipping at PayPal fee it was like $136

    Hmm

Interesting info. I thought they put twin carbs on the 3K; I seem to remember seeing it when I was gathering info about a K30 Corolla I owned.

i suppose i should note that im kinda ignorant of world wide motors, ive only looked into the models ive owned.

could see a rolla with the solex, and it wouldnt surprize me much if there were motor that just came that way, we always got F'd on power plants in the US.

Thanks gas crunches, smog and the Cadillac 500...

In these modern times I'm finding, no matter how much I LOVE the V8, there really isn't any practical need for 99% of the population to have anything other than a four cylinder, aside from diesels which are WAY more efficient anyways. Big hauling power needed, go diesel, all else, go with a four. It's amazing what's happened with the four cylinder in recent years especially. A two-hundred pony four-popper isn't even close to exotic anymore. How cool is that?

Dual Mikunis? Awesome. Now if only you had the 18RG that they came off of. Good luck with those!
