wont run at low rpms

    my idle for my truck is around 800rpms... the truck will die unless i peddle the gas until the temp gauge moves a little bit...what could cause this..thanks

    I gots no truck, for now
    so...once it warms up it idles, but stone cold it wont? what year truck? what engine?

    87 ...22r motor carb....and correct it runs solid once its warmed up....it also sounds like it has a miss on it...if i keep it at 3 grand it likes to pop...i was thinking the coil pack

    Sounds like your timing is a little off if its popping at 3000rpms. Are you running a stock carb?

    yea i bieleve...i bought a rebuilt one from a friend..it looked just like the other one...how would i adjust the timing? my honda i just had to turn my distributor...im sure there is an easy way for yotas too

    A timeing light to see where your set at.

    Check to make sure your choke is working too. If the choke is not closing it will create a lean run issue when cold and a lean engine will have a little miss as well.

    its probally the choke causing problems, my last 87 truck with a stock carb wouldnt run worth carp till it was warm, egr can cause similar problems as well


    after while i bought a weber carb and was happy

    try adjusting valves too while ur at it.
