I don't think an 18 X 9.5 will fit if your goal is to have it fit under/inside an unmodified, Japan bed, 2X4, rear fender.

I've only finished testing the rear wheels on my 1988 but from my measurements, you can only fit a 8" wheel with 37mm offset under the rear fender and that is getting really close to the frame on the backside of the wheel/tire.

This is based on physically fitting a 17 X 7, 25mm offset wheel with 215/45-17 tire and having it fit under the fender.

My goal is to mount a 16X7, 25mm offset wheel with a 205/60-16 tire which should fit under the fender comfortably.

I have to wait for another free weekend to mock up a test fit for the front...

How much difference is there from the 88-89 beds? Cuz I'm running 18s and my tires are 9" wide on my 93 and I don't have a problem. But then again I'm not very knowledgeable in tires. They are 245/45/R18. Front and back. Don't ask me on my wheel offset cuz I can't remember.

From all the posts and pictures and project trucks I've been studying for the past few years on this website, it looks like there is a big difference between the 84-88 Japan bed trucks and 89+ trucks. :( We can't put as big a wheel/tire combo under the front or rears on our trucks unless you run with the 4X4 fenders and US bed...
