On warmer days when I'm driving my truck a lot, I get a ticking/grinding sound when I kill the engine. See video linked below. It may be coincidence, but this didn't happen before I installed my Weber. Any ideas?

It's dieseling... What's it idle at? Sounds way high, try around 7-800

Also, Mine will do that too on hot days, especially if I just putt around. I noticed if I drive it harder, higher rpms, for the last couple blocks before I shut it off I didn't have that problem nearly as often.

My idle is set at about 700 rpms. Any lower and the truck dies at stops.

Float could be set a little high too....

Or your "anti-diesel" solenoid isn't operational/sealing off the idle port.

Double check your timing, it can play a big part in how your engine starts and shuts off. Should be 12° @800 rpm if I remember right.

UPDATE: I started using higher octane gas and the dieseling has stopped.
