water leak under efi unit of 1986 SR 5 22r

    Please help me with the exact method of removing EFI unit so I can determine which hoses or pipes need to be replaced.There is a leak but efi must be removed and I don't have much technical knowhow.Thank you.

    Pull the passenger wheel off & you should be able to see the controll unit that is probably leaking. Their are two items ( if I rember right ) that carry coolant through them in that area!!:cool:

    Chances are that it is the bypass hose, it runs from the water pump to the intake manifold. You do not have to remove anything to get to it, it's just a pain. Mine blew just weeks ago and I learned of it's existence.

    When this hose goes, it pumps the jacket dry.

    And I was desperate for more water.........
