so, im wondering if anybody knows the weights of various toyota motors in similar configuration.

right now i have a 78 with a 20R and a W50 trans. does anybody know the weight of that setup, either together or seperate? i know they are lighter than the older 4 cyls.

also, a 7M turbo and non. without trans.

    maybe a 1JZ. without trans.

obviously you can see what im wondering. i dont need more weight up front. a little different is okay but huge will make me rethink things. mine doesnt have a/c or p/s.

    thanks guys.

hahaha....i thought to myself skimming it, whos the guy with the bathroom scale....it was you. makes so much sence. haha.

heres a few that people here might want.

    22RE - 318lbs
    5M-GE - 340lbs
    7M-GTE - 456lbs
    1JZ-GTE - 477lbs
    SAAB slant 4 - 290lbs :D

    trannys
    W50 - ~100 lbs
    W58 - 90lbs
R154 - ~110lbs -- using the weight that a supra motor/tranny differs in spec of just a tranny difference. need double checking.

for guys that know the 2nd/3rd gen supras, how come the 7M with a turbo weighs so much more than the 5M without. anything that can be done to drop some weight from it? since its basically the same block, just different topend setup.

hmm, 1UZ is much lighter than the 1JZ.... yet heavier than the 22RE... ahh now it makes sense.
