My turn signals are too fast. The bulb element doesn't have time to light up. Any suggestions on aftermarket relays to slow them down?
Have you messed with the bulbs lately? if so, make sure that they are seated in the socket good. I had issues with mine before when I thought they were in correctly.
also, could be a burnt out bulb. i know on some toyotas, if they blink fast like that then one signal bulb, either in the front or rear, is burnt out.
Bad bulb, wrong bulb or switching to LED's would make your blinkers go out of whack. I have LED's on my Tahoe corners and they blink lightning fast.
Superbrightles.com has blinker relays that compensate for led bulbs. You have to build an adapter for them to plug in but well worth it. I bought unit #CF13 JL-02. You can build and adapter with male blade connectors, H4 headlight harness and a bit of wire. https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...f13jl-02-led-bulb-electronic-flasher/783/837/
Okay, so I ordered the flasher relay. It doesn't look quite like the original and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to make it go. Any suggestions? I guess I'm thinking I need to make three small jumpers.
it's a pretty easy fix .. costs nothing in the original flasher #81980-22070 (green one) .. remove the lower , most center resistor .. this will STOP the quick flash , and your LED's will work , my shop has done it 100 times .
Slacker, Thanks. You mean the middle, lowest one in this picture, between the transistor and the capacitor at the bottom of the board? I think it's a 16,000 ohm... I suppose I could just go for it. I have the spare out of my parts truck if all else fails. I guess I'll wait a day for confirmation though.
I had the soldering gun out for something else and went ahead and disconnected one end of that one resistor. Nice slow turn signal now.
for my 1994 I had to order the CF13GL-02 CF13GL-02 LED Bulb Electronic Flasher | Flashers & Load Resistors | Car Bulb Installation Supplies | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs plugs right in. The JL needed two of the prongs switched to the GL's configuration. it's located under the dash, right below the steering column, above the brake pedal
