Best header for a 22R/RE is the Doug Thorley, IMO, and more reasonably priced.

As for 4 to 1 VS 4-2-1 (aka tri-Y), it all depends on tube diameter and length, as well as collector diameter and length, as to it's performance (high end, low end, etc.)

ceramic coated would be best......... chrome would be cheaper.

the only thing on my mind though is that the last header i bought from LCE kinda started to flake the ceramic coating after a year..... i wouldnt be honest if id say i would hessitate getting the ceramic coating for the extra cash. i just figure it was a fluke since ive had great results from all their other products.

    LC is a reseller...

the doug thorely IS the best header you can buy. LC even sells them.

4-1 is better for top end power, but the 2xr really isnt made for that

a tri-y will be better overall.

as for sound, not really sure how it will change, i actually have a stocker type muffler on both of mine. will change to a couple glass packs in the near future so you could here it then.

i think all the good noises come from a carb anyways :D

im the same as lowlux, 32/36 weber, will be getting a dizzy/leads ad plugs next tune up.
if i was considering a cam in the future would the street kit still be better then the pro?

currently my exhaust has no emmisions crap on it, couldnt even see where it was supposed to go. its like it isnt supposed to be on the from the start

when i was running my 38 weber, i was runnin the street preformer header. i also had the msd 6al ignition box, msd wires, ngk's and so on. I dont think u will be needing the extra breathin room the pro kit gives with a very mild motor. Best thing to do is call Lcengineering and ask, i have done this many atimes to make sure i didnt buy something i didnt need. Doorslammer, if u need me to i can call them since ur in Ausie...

    Should have kept... '88 4x4 22RE
    TRD header

If I had the money and if my stock cat wasn't cut off by a f***ing theif, I would go for the TRD performance header.:waytogo: You can find them on andysautosport.com for I believe both 22R and 22RE engines. Obviously, they will NOT work for the turbo.

Wow, dnt get me wrong but I have had all kinds of brands of headers, but wow $360 for headers, **** that, I'd get hooker headers $180 and they are ok.

You have to remember what you are buying:
    What is it made of
    Wall thickness
    Finish
    Performance of the product
    Fitment

All of these are different from the suppliers !!
And is the product smog legal ( CARB number),if in Ca. a must!!
