I am picking up a 1981 2wd single cab, I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to put at least a 12" subwoofer in the cab?
a 12 inch shallow mount should fit behind the seats if you extend the box to fit behind both seats... though and the tiny pdx amp/amps to power them should sound pretty good. 2 of these http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=Am6PTovMA_SJsALR3cCMAQ&ved=0CEkQ8wIwBA# 1 of these http://www.google.com/products/cata...=X&ei=KW6PTuWkCMHKsQKcl5G7AQ&ved=0CEUQ8wIwAA#
Im putting in a 12" shallow mount this one>>>> Kenwood KFC-WS12 Shallow-mount 12" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com good thing is you only need .8 cu ft of box to run this sub ( height 18" x width16" x depth 5") and that can easily fit behind the pass seat and just mount the amp under either seat and you should be boomin'
I had a 10" in a sub zero truck box in my 83, the passenger seat had to be scooted almost all the way up for it to fit. A shallow mount and custom box should work great
Unless your 5'10" or taller anything shallow mount should work. Im in the process of designing a box for 3 shallow mount 8's or 2 10's. The box will be entire lenth of backwall and about 3/4 way up with amp rack in middle. I was going to do a bed box but did it to my avalanche instead.
