Is there a possibility that cutting apart my kickpanels and leaving the back of a speaker exposed to the ECU could effect how it runs?

Im debating making kick panels a little smaller, and built into the factory ones, to keep the sound quality, but reduce the ammount of space they take up.

i dont really know if the speakers being so close to the ecu would effect it. it is a big magnet though, magnets tend to tweak electronics. u could always relocate your ecu? i had to when i converted from carb to efi. i didint want to lose my kickpanel speakers so i mounted my ecu up and under the glovebox to the metal bar that the glovebox mounts to. its a little exposed but it works good for me and still plenty of foot room. i think ill paint it or make a sheetmetal sleeve for it or somthing.

    No.

But if you are concerned, try pulling the kick panel and sticking the motor of a driver to it and run it.
