I've been looking through this whole forum at all the pics of Starion wheels and I'm having problems finding what tire size i want to order. Wandering if you guys can post pics of your Starions with tires and post the sizes. I really like the look of the tires on this truck someone posted a while back but don't know what size these are. I'm thinking of going with 205 50 or 205 45's.

Just a ? but why does everyone run these rims w no center caps on in front? Is the bore not big enough or is the dust cap too big? Seems you could be able to beat the cap in to get a "finished" look here...

because the clips on the 16x7 center caps hit the hubs on the truck. i'm gonna glue mine in and modify the clip to clear. i think the 16x8's clear ok but i'm not sure.

i have 205 50 hankooks on the way...

    ^ nope. My 16x9's don't clear either so I'm sure the 8's don't.

Let me clarify. I am mostly sure that the 84-88 trucks have the issue.

Thanks man! Tires I'm running are 195/45/16 on 16X8 all the way around. My set up is a 4 on 4 drop with Belltech spindles and torsions cranked and 4" blocks in rear. I would love to go lower but it's a daily and I haul my other hobby which is collecting 80s arcade games you can kind of see some of my games in the garage from the picture.

Dude! Must bow down for that one! I think I am going to run a little bigger tires and not so much of a drop.. but dang your truck looks perfect!

    I've got 16X8 up front (205/55r16) and 16X9 (225/50r16) in the rear.

Front is 2" spindle and cranked torsion bars 2", and rear is 3" block. I had to bend the inside fender lip up on the rear tires for clearance, and the front rubs a little so I'll be going back up a little. I like the sidewall height, but need to stretch some tires so I can get the clearance up front.

Here's my build with pics for reference

I agree that a 205/50 is just right. I used to run them on some 16s I had. Perfect for the front. Out back a 225/50 is a bit meatier and gives a "big and little" look which I dig. A 55 is too tall, and a 40 will mess the gearing up too much. Not just that the speedo is off but 1st is useless and 5th is too short. I have that issue running 215/45/17s and 4.10s.
