He used shelf liner vinyl rolls for the hood. Like a giant sticker. Few seams but hard to find unless you're up close. Hood spacers are easy. Get a longer bolt than stock, by the amount of your spacer. I got the little tube spacers that were about 1.5" and got bolts that much longer. Plus the extra space for a fat washer above and below the tube to prevent it going through the hinge or hood. That was like 10-15 bucks at the hardware store. For winter time I flip them to below the hinge instead of between it and the hood. They clear. No need to change stuff, just rearrange it. Or you can make a cool spacer like the handle of a 1/2" craftsmen ratchet cut off. Drill the holes where they need to go and it'll work the same way. Or sockets work nicely.
I recently bought this truck before he moved back to HI. He was a friend from school and now its passed on to me. he raised it back to stock height but I have plans on lowering it again the same way and make it my own.
Yeah I just seen the other post, it'll look good after its dropped again. I cant wait till mines all dropped
I have a few shots like that ill post up when i find them lol Looks good with those wheels. Are they old vette wheels with adapters? Whats the license plate covering? A natural weight reduction hole?
THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE!! THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE!!!! This thread right here is what I'm talkin bout! Thanks for the inspiration. Wish i had spent the time to take a more clear picture at the time. She will be lower when she comes back out.
There it is! Your truck is the envy and propigater of styles many of us guys here follow. It'll be great to see it back for another round.
Glad you're getting inspired to bring it back to life. I have phases like that with my 78 and with my dodge. Plan to never sell either of them tho. They can sit when I lose interest lol. You have a new build thread? Cuz I see a 1uz in your sig photo.
I feel you there. I have friends that call me alot asking if I'm going to sell any idle projects. The answer is always no. The build thread is the same. Just updated it with the 1uz swap.
haha thanks man! Yes , they are c4 vette wheels with adapters. And the plate is covering what I like to call " speed holes " . Its going to get lowered more here in the next few weeks and i am thinking of body dropping it this winter, and I may or may not bag it yet. i dailyed a bagged s10 for some time, and i kinda would rather stay static dropped for a while.
