smoke coming out of valve cover

    hey gang is it normal for smoke to be coming out of the valve cover through the pcv and breather holes? mines has alot when idling and even more when i rev it. this is from a rebuilt motor that i bought from a coworker. thanks :)

    Assuming it's running fine, I would check the oil level these the next few days and look for heavier smoke coming from the exhaust. It could be the valve seals that were maybe improperly replaced or never replaced to begin with.
    This would cause oil to leak and burn in the cylinders also sending heavy smoke back in the valve cover.

    Mine are pretty bad and give off a little smoke if its hot and I open the oil cap, but nothing out of the PCV.. It also sends out a little puff of white smoke out the tail pipe on start up.
