Replacing U-joints

    Going to be changing out my U-joints this weekend. Seems to be pretty straight forward, but just curious if anyone on here has done them and any thing I should look out for. Thanks

    lots of penetrating oil and a good impact gun.

    Yes, don't loose any needle bearings from the new caps. It's frustrating when something so small can make an entire vehicle un operable. This is why if you don't immediately bolt it up, (like breaking for lunch, etc..) put some tape around the joint so the caps stay on until your ready to bolt it up. :waytogo:

    Finally got around to this over the weekend. Only one was bad, on the rear drive shaft. Have the 2 piece version cause of the long bed. The drive shaft came out no problems, but my vise was too small to press out the u joints. Luckily the neighbor had a press. No major problems. Runs soooo much smoother now.
