My new project is going to be adding power windows. My truck is base model and its rare to find a sr5 now days. My concern isn't the wiring or the switches. Its the guts. I was wondering if I just order the power window motor and regulator if it will work with my inside door frame work. So mounting the regulator in. Basically if it will be bolt in. Or I need to use the whole sr5 door etc? Thanks guys

100r% bolt in so long as both regulators are for the same window type. Full window and partial with wing window regulators aren't interchangeable.

im in the process of doing this as we speak. I grabbed the front power window regulators from a 4runner (with the wires) and then I picked up this window kit off ebay

Power Window Wiring Harness w 3 Switches Great for Street Rods 12V Streetrod | eBay

and then I put the switches in these billet panels

Billet Power Window Generic Switch Plate Single or Double | eBay

I put them In the stock flat door panels, however the wires stick into the door too far and hit the window mechanism as the window gets to about 3/4 of the way down. So im going to have to space out the switches or place them somewhere else in the door.

Can you post a link of the install on your ride ?

I checked your build thread but don't see it on there.

Does anybody know if parts for 84-88 or 89-95 doors will work in 74-78 doors? I have thought about changing my hilux to power windows.

I like the sound of those colibri regulators. They basically spin the crank for you. I will look into them more and post what I find.

Would these work for switches with any kit I get?
Also basically to get power windows, I need regulators, motors, wiring and switches? Does anything need to be model specific to make things easier?

Not to thread jack but i was doing seem researching and pretty set on the crank turners, and figured out it'll work with my old regulators and use the window crank switches I posted earlier. Which will give a surprise factor, when someone goes to roll down the window and after a small turn the window goes itself. I like corny stuff like this. Lol.

I however would to install a single switch in the console or somewhere that'll control both windows at the same time. So if someone's not on the pass side I don't have to reach over. Is that possible?
Again sorry for the jack and long post. Thanks.
