I took my truck apart this weekend and I'm getting ready to start the bodywork. My doors had the triangle vent windows and I want to change them to the one piece window. Is this a direct swap??? I have the one piece glass and regulator. Has anyone done this swap? Does the two braces under the vent window need to be cut out???

Its a straight swap, but you will need to cut out the frame for the quater window

You might want to double check that, I agree you do have to remove that little mount for the quarter glass up inside the top. Though you'll need to get the glass run channels as well. The 2 are different, the 2 piece window runs down the frame on the quarter glass, & the single glass run channel runs down the front of the door.

I got all the parts including the rubber for the channels and the channels. I just wanted to make sure if there was anything else that needed modification.

I agree, it has a cleaner look. I also hate the side mirror location with the vent glass. I'm gonna move mines forward.

I feel like the idiot here, I did the total opposite, i swapped my single for the 2 piece, but i added 4 runner mirrors to go with the rest of the runner stuff i have on my truck. Though its a mod that very little people have here in Guam, so i did it to be different.

i think the vent windows just make me more unique since everyone has them 1 piece windows.

I went from wing window to full using complete doors from a 4-Runner same year (84-88), to get power windows -mirrors & locks( deleted the locks)!

oh really? i don't know about the second gens, but i have heard the difference is only the 4 door runners have shorter doors, but the 2 door runners have doors the same size as pickups.

but i have never worked with 4runners, that is only what i remember reading a few places.
