Im going to replace my clutch in my truck and im not sure all what i need? It just feels like the clutch not really work when i press it in and its hard to change gears. Do all i need in the Clutch Master Cylinder.
The clutch and the clutch master cylinder are 2 different things. You should properly diagnose the problem before you throw parts at it. It sounds like it's just your clutch. In which you need to remove the transmission to change. An honestly, if you dont know the difference between the master cylinder and the clutch, you might not want to take on that job by yourself. Just my .02
yes i know that the clutch is in the tranmission, that why i was hoping it was just the clutch master cylinder. How can you tell if you need the clutch or the master cylinder?
Leaks If master cylinder is bad you will see leakage. If you cant see a leak and have fluid in you resevior its probably your clutch.
I think that I do have some leakage from the clutch master cylinder so I changed that but now I dont have any pressure in the clutch, i think i need to bleed it but i cant find where to bleed it at. If anyone knows it would be a big help thanks!
Don't mean to Hijack the thread....Also need advice...last week my truck engine was changed...After engine went in, engine started but I can't reverse or any other gear..Is it the clutch plate or Pressure plate?.....
bleed at slave cylinder.... follow your line coming out of your master down till you find it 10mm wrench
most likely it would be the clutch slave if there is no pressure but still has fluid in the resevior.you might have to go under the truck to find it
Thanks for the help on bleeding the clutch master cylinder. I changed it out and made a big difference when changing gears. The only thing now is that when i let out my clutch it doesnt catch untill almost all the way out. Im guessing i can adjust that where i hooked the clutch master cylinder up to my clutch pedal?
