Chelu, I have followed your build since day one and I must say I am at awe with what you have done. I just bought my 79 back from my nephew and I was gonna go with the 3rz swap but I am convinced to keeping it old school! Oh BTW, my wife is pissed at all the parts I just bought:waytogo:! I grabbed a set of 50's from Todd at Wolfcreek. Time to build a hybrid!

    Shootz!

Thanks, it's not all that bro. Just simple stuff put together, nothing outrageously special... :waytogo:

Thanks, do shop around, I put this motor together for under 1K, granted I had the carbs, intake and cam already tho... Lol, my 50's setup is for sale if you really wanna piss off the wifey, buy two sets! Hahaha

Send me the info...I just bought a set of SK 45's. How much you asking for...what I really need is a manifold.

    Shootz!

Born again... Old school meets new school... lol

Day 1: Remove Thorley header and install log manifold...

Mounted turbo for down pipe, oil feed, oil return and charge pipe mock up... Its already looking crazy! :eyecrazy:

Oil feed done and carb hat installed.

End of day 1: Got charge pipe mocked up, most of these pieces were left over stuff from other peoples builds, it helped keep the costs low. With a hacksaw and some imagination it seem to fit ok.... lol

Day 2: Find a place for the "freddy" BOV... I had ordered the BOV flange in mild steel so I used a 6-1/2" long 2-1/2" diameter exhaust pipe... Made a small mount to help with the weight of the piping... lol

Here you can see where i cut and pasted the exhaust pipe for the BOV...

Starting to take shape... Called it a day...

Day 3: After a brief parts run for some mandrel bent SS exhaust pipe some misc nuts/bolts/clamps/etc... Started on the downpipe... It started life as a 180* bend, cut it just a tad over halfway so i can use both pieces once cut. Measure twice cut once they say so after some fitting and measuring its time to burn some metal... Please excuse my beads as they are not the prettiest... lol

    5 bolt flange:

    Viola! Downpipe done!

Day 4: Start the rest of the exhaust and drop pan to weld in oil return bung...

    DP mounted:

3 bolt flange connected to the old existing exhaust about 2' back... Also had to weld in the O2 bung for the wideband... its about 12" after the 3 bolt joint...

Dropped the pan and welded in the oil return bung... Hope it doesnt leak! lol

    Called it a day...

Day 5: Clean oil pan and remount... Hook up vacuum lines for wastegate and BOV. Washed the charge pipe for debris and hacksaw dust... Lol!

Done!! Fired up and in the tuning stages... 5 psi at the moment until intercooler is installed... Stay tuned!

Test drive with my son earlier today... Rolled it into on 2nd and let off in 4th otherwise we'd miss the turn home... lol! My son said its making my arm bounce... Suspension is stiff from clamping the leaf springs... haha!

Max boost is 15psi as it's the heaviest wastegate spring I have. That'll have to wait for the Intercooler and mls headgasket... Only using a felpro at the moment... Lol

    Yup, couple reasons...

    1. Simplicity, one less carb to jet/tune and or have vacuum/boost leaks...
    2. This carb has been proven to handle up to 16psi of boost.
